Mall Rats

Between 7 bikes and 2 vehicles something in our garage always seems to have a flat. Unfortunately we're always more prepared to fix the bikes! Oh well, I have to hand it to Jason this time. My super resourceful hubby pumped up his car tire with his bike pump, threw the pump in the backseat, and headed off to the tire store. Cheap insurance...check. A good pair of snow boots...check. And that, my friends, was the start of our Saturday morning!

We ended up having a pretty enjoyable time at the mall, though, while we waited for our tires to get fixed. Levi thought he had died and gone to heaven when we let him roam around the mall on his own two feet. He ran up to all the store windows and put his grimy hands and snotty nose right up against them. Yeah, I was THAT mom!
The carousel really caught his attention. He just stood there and said "Ohhhhhh!" and jumped up and down.

He didn't get too close to the edge. For a kid that doesn't even think twice about jumping off the sofa this really surprised me.

Even more surprising was his fear of the fountain. Maybe it was the sound of the crashing water or just the thought of getting his head rinsed off in the bath, but Levi was terrified of it. So we showed him how to toss pennies into it!

He thought that was pretty cool, but after 5 cents he was back in the safety of Dad's lofty arms.
